WELCOME TO THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF COMO

The International School of Como (ISC), situated 32 km from Milan and 6 Km from the Swiss border, was founded in 2002 to provide international and local families with a truly international education of high standard and quality.

The school has, at present, a roll of over one hundred students and caters for children in Early Years, Elementary School and Middle School.

Teaching is based on the Programmes of the International Baccalaureate Organisation, designed for international schools like ours, and highly regarded around the world. Children learn in a warm, caring, intellectually stimulating and challenging environment, through active participation in a wide range of educational activities.

The school was accredited as an IB World school in the summer of 2006 and joinned a group of over 1,500 schools across the world in offering an IBO programme.

The school is an official member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and of the European Council of International Schools ( ECIS)
The programme is taught mainly in English. However there is also a strong emphasis on Italian, aiming for children to become highly proficient in both languages. Our mother tongue Italian students are prepared to attend secondary schools in either Italian or English.

The students come from 20 different countries. 50% of the students come from Mother Tongue Italian families, 25% of our families have one Italian and one non Italian parent and the final 25% come from families representing fourteen different countries.

The school welcomes inquiries and visits from parents and teachers wishing to learn more about the International School of Como
